ITEMIZED PROPOSALS

The itineraries we propose list all accommodation and other services (such as rental cars) individually. If a lodge provides additional services not included in their standard rate, then these are listed separately as well.

This allows you to verify that we're always giving you the lowest rate.

And it even allows you to "cherry-pick"; should you already have booked some nights elsewhere then you can simply omit these from our proposal.

100% SATISFACTION

We've been selling customised safari itineraries for more than 20 years, and have been based in the Kruger area permanently for more than 10 years now. We've worked in various reserves and lodges, as front-of-house, nature guide, and as management couple. And now we have our own lodge.

So we know who gives you the best bang for the buck and who's cutting corners, we know where to go to maximize sightings of certain species, and we know how to efficiently and affordably stitch it all together.

Our goal is to give you the best possible experience, given your specific budget. Profit is not our main goal; our lodge is our main income source.

CHEAPER ELSEWHERE?
IMPOSSIBLE!

As travel agents we get a commission for every safari lodge room we fill. As our travel agency is not our main source of income, we give part of that commission back to our customers in the form of a discount.

Our proposals also list the websites of all chosen accommodation, so customers can compare our rates with the rates that lodges use for direct bookings online.

Should any accommodation offer a lower rate due to a promo, or on an online booking platform, then we will negotiate with that lodge to get the same rate for you, or we will propose an equivalent alternative.

OUR OWN SAFARI LODGE

While working for some very upmarket lodges in the Kruger private reserves, we learned that large rooms providing 100% privacy, an outdoor shower and a private plunge pool are without any exception the most expensive "suites" of the lodge, and often marketed as the "honeymoon suites".

We looked for similar accommodation offering 100% privacy outside the private reserve boundaries, and preferably also accommodation where any additional services such as meals and activities are not included by default. After all; we were "self-drivers" ourselves, and on a budget.

Unfortunately we could not find what were looking for, unless if we were willing to pay a serious premium. It seemed only very wealthy customer are entitled to privacy. So when it was time to construct our own lodge, we knew exactly what we would be offering our customers!

For more info on our lodge; please see the separate page on this website. Note that if you include our lodge in your safari itinerary, we will give you a 10% discount on our accommodation rates, in low as well as high season.

WHAT WE ARE GOING FOR

We want 100% satisfied customers. And that means we do not take chances with regards to the accommodation we choose for you, and the services these lodges provide. Also; we will only compile realistic itineraries, where a sufficient amount of time is spent at each visited region.

This means we will suggest family-owned small-scale ecotourism lodges and no big hotel-like accommodation. We will also make sure that these lodges offer an accommodation standard that's at least similar to what you have at home.

Our itineraries will only contain certain regions if your total amount of vacation days allow sufficient time to fully explore these regions. South Africa has a lot to offer, and if your length of stay is not enough to explore what you had in mind, then we will tell you in all honesty, and suggest to omit certain regions, perhaps to visit them another time.

The above means that, indeed, we do sometimes have to refuse requests, especially if it is virtually impossible to meet a potential customer's demands without taking chances in terms of his/her satisfaction with the trip. If you are looking for a one-night-here-two-nights-there-one-night-again-somewhere-else type of itinerary, typically with many long travel times in between chosen regions, then we are not the travel agent you are looking for.

We will get in touch as soon as we can. But please note that we have a lodge to run, and our attention may sometimes be needed elsewhere. So please be patient with us.

It may save some time if you can already tell us something about your safari plans; what country and regions you'd like to visit, how many people, what travel dates you have in mind (arrival & departure date), what budget you'd like to spend, and what type of trip you are looking for (self-catering/self-driving or "all in"). And of course please let us know any specific requests you have in mind.

When we get back to you, it's often via a chat on WhatsApp, if you allow us to contact you this way. We prefer this method, as it saves a lot of time and provides much more information compared to sending emails back and forth.
